The Department of Energy releases a report stating that the manager of Hanford was not told nuclear weapons parts were being melted until after the testing was done. The DOE was investigating why an air monitor was turned off when a small amount of tritium was released in an April test on destroyed weapons parts. The incident has sparked protests from the Department of Health.
